BAK 946 - The slim six-slot PICMG backplane

The BAK 946 is a new addition to Microbus' extensive range of PCI backplanes.

Occupying 6 slots, there are 3 PCI slots, 2 ISA slots and a shared PCI/ISA slot.

Two of the PCI slots are available as PICMG processor slots. This two processor slot option allows flexibility in supporting 3 PCI with 2 ISA, or 4 PCI with 1 ISA expansion slots. As with all Microbus backplanes, the BAK 946 features: Twin ferrite noise suppression on all power and ground signals Socket filtering using ceramic and tantalum capacitors Individual power filtering for each processor slot

Power supply noise and interference induced on power cables are cut down by the use of inductor/capacitor filters on all power units.
