MAT 961 - Pentium® III powered EBX multimedia SBC

Supporting Pentium® III processors up to 850Mhz, the MAT 961 combines low power and functionality in one small foot-print.

With a high performance multimedia specification and Microbus' own industrial standard features, the MAT 961 is the ideal solution for mobile applications and compact designs.

The MAT 961 offers the S3 Mobile Savage 2D/3D accelerator, driving flat panel and analogue video, whilst the video input channel supports composite input as NTSC or PAL together with a Phillips video decoder. The PCI sound system employs a Yamaha chipset and is soundblaster compatible. Although providing such a comprehensive multimedia platform, the card meets low power consumption requirements for mobile applications; fully configured, with a Pentium® III 500Mhz processor, running Windows NT®, the card consumes less than 20W.

As well as supporting flat panel and analogue video, the board offers up to 256 Mbytes SDRAM, Ultra33 DMA IDE and 10Base-T/100Base-TX Ethernet control. Packing PC/104-Plus expansion compatibility the board also supports six serial ports, one infra-red port, two USB, parallel, keyboard and mouse ports.

The MAT 961 also integrates Microbus's OEM features for automatic recovery, best effort boot, software readable serial number and revision control. The board supports several protection features including self healing fuses and static discharge protection, whilst temperature management is provided by fans with rotational speed monitoring and automatic CPU clock throttling.

The card also has a direct connection to ultra low profile floppy drives and to ease cabling issues, the keyboard, mouse, serial and parallel ports are all carried by a high density connector.
